Wetlands Public Consultations June and July
The Manitoba Water Council is the senior advisory body to the Minister of Water Stewardship. As part of a review of the Manitoba Water Strategy the Water Council is conducting public consultations to determine Manitobans' perspectives on wetlands.
The consultation process will be underway this summer. The Water Council is inviting the public to participate by:
1) Attending an open house.
The open houses will be held throughout Manitoba in June and July. They will involve a brief presentation by the Water Council followed by an opportunity for the public to give short verbal presentations to the Water Council. We would like you to pre-register to give a presentation (no powerpoint please) send your request to the Water Council at Water.Council@gov.mb.ca or call 945-1007. You will also be allowed to register at the open house.
Please note that we will be limiting verbal presentations to five minutes. Please see the schedule of open houses below.
2) Writing a submission
If you would like to submit your comments in writing written submissions will be accepted at the open houses and by email to water.council@gov.mb.ca . There is no limit to the length of the written submissions.
3) Completing a workbook questionnaire.
Questionnaires are located at the back of the workbook or can be completed and submitted online at the Water Council website www.manitobawatercouncil.ca. Hardcopies of the workbook and questionnaire will be mailed shortly. To request additional copies please email the Water Council at water.council@gov.mb.ca
or call 945-1007. We would like all questionnaires returned by August
15th. Hardcopies of the questionnaires can be submitted at the open
